Kindergarteners love to wiggle! The school day is so long and they need time for movement while they work. By having alternative seating in the classroom, research has shown that having alternative seating improves behavior and academic performance.
Every student will have a choice of which alternative seating they would like to have at their desk! I will have three different types of alternative seating for the kids to choose from. Throughout the year, the students will have a chance to try out all three types of seating.
Adding these different types of alternative seating in my classroom, students can wiggle, stand, and bounce during instructional time. My hope is to better my students attention span during instructional time, so they can better focus on what they are learning/working on and lessen disruptive behavior.
I can't wait to see their academic and behavior improvement throughout the year!
