The CD players and headphones are already needed. Currently I am having to tape and fix the ones I currently have. These students are in the fourth grade and becoming fluent readers will help them progress in other content areas. Each student has to use a portable CD player and headphones to listen to passages and read along with the CD. They then read to me. Read Naturally is a reading intervention program that is designed to help students become fluent readers. Learning to read fluently will provide encouragement and hope to these students that they can learn to read and contend with their peers. These students will be better prepared and excited when entering fifth grade.
