I would like to offer my students flexible seating to ensure that they can work in a way that supports their needs. I currently have traditional desks, this is fine, however, this does not work for all students. The only flexible seating I currently have in my classroom is padded crates and a bean bag in my reading center. They get excited about having these choices of seating while reading. I really would like to give them more choices where they don't have to sit all day. They can stand while working as some students work better while standing and stretching out their legs.
I believe this will help them to become more enthusiastic and motivated while engaging in reading and writing activities. This will promote independence and creativity.
