Flexible seating options give students the ability to pick a seating option for themselves that keeps them focused and in turn, be more productive.
Non-traditional chairs are fun for the students to use. They are specially designed to help get some of the wiggles out, as they provide a built in movement option that is safe for the students.
It is important to have many different options for students to choose from, this way they can pick the seating option that is best for them to stay focused and put their best effort into their work while working in an area that is comfortable.
In my project I'm requesting five Gaiam balance balls and a wobble chair. These items are specifically designed for movement. When used in the classroom students are able to move their body while sitting, thus keeping them alert and more active in the learning process.
