Sitting, standing, leaning, pacing, kneeling or reclining, whatever works to get our brain going and growing. I stand most of my day, meeting my students needs as they sit rigidly in their seats. They need to have more flexibility.
Students shouldn't be confined to their chair! We all love to be comfortable and move frequently, our students should be able do that as well.
I have arranged my classroom to allow movement and choices in seating. Each day as they come into class, they pick the type of seating that allows them to focus best to offer a prime learning experience. It will give them their special niche to focus and learn. Giving my students the option to do so every day gives them some control of their education which boosts confidence and desire to learn.
