The math and science apps available for the Kindles will meet the needs for all of my students. For those who are struggling with math and science skills, these apps will provide intervention in a different way from what I can provide. For those who need more rigorous learning, the Kindles will provide them and opportunity for research and further expand their learning.
The Kindles will be used in centers and small group settings. Students will be able to use them for STEMS by investigating various topics like states of matter.
I have found an app called Sock Puppet in which the students can create their own videos. This will be perfect for them to use to teach a math or science concept to their fellow classmates. Research has proven that children who are able to apply their knowledge by reteaching shows the depth of their understanding.
The Kindles will provide an excitement to the students learning in which textbooks are limited. Using technology meets the needs of all learners: visual, auditory, and kinesthetic.
