My students attend a school that is lagging in technology. We do not have working classroom computers. So, they spend most of their days learning in ways that are fun for them, but not exciting. I want more for my students!
I am requesting five Chromebooks with headphones so that I can have my students learn Reading and Social Studies concepts through online resources. There are a plethora of resources for children. We just don't have access to them.
A typical day in my classroom involves me teaching a whole group lesson and student groups. I try to make the days as engaging for them as possible, but I am no match for technology. With these Chromebooks, my students can go online to websites such as ABCYA.com and teachyourmonstertoread.com that offer fun ways for students to learn beginning reading concepts.
My students are the struggling first graders, and they really need the extra support. They will also be able to use the Chromebooks for individual support when they need additional help on a particular learning concept. I know that my students would really enjoy and appreciate the added technology in our classroom. Your donation is sure to help them see learning in a better and more engaging way, and also put them on the path to success.
