In our classroom of 23 students, we currently only have 2 desktop computers to use on a daily basis, with one of those desktops being the teacher computer used to project documents onto our white board. Due to our main source of classroom management being an online-based program called Class Dojo, one of the two computers is occupied about 90% of the time to display said management system, also as well as BRAINPOP videos, google classroom and other websites we utilize.
Outside of our classroom, there are just under 700 students in our K-3 school, meaning many of the technology resources that are available are split amongst the building resulting in limited availability. We share a chromebook chart of 24 chromebooks with about eight teachers in our hallway. Our time with the chromebooks is limited to about two hours, one day a week. I would love the opportunity for my students to experience everything technology has to offer.
