Imagine working in a classroom with no computers, where students are expected to succeed in the 21st century. For our fifth grade of 125 students, we have one cart with 25 Chromebooks. My class is divided into 5 cooperative learning groups. Currently we have no computers in the classroom. I would love to have one Chromebook for each of the groups. This would allow each group to work on fact fluency during math. During the literacy block the Chromebooks could be used to complete and share assignments through Google Classroom. For math workshop the Chromebooks could be used as a rotational learning station.
The Chromebooks will help foster an enthusiasm for learning in my classroom. I'll be able to manage and interact with my students in real time as they work on group and individual assignments. The Chromebooks are quick and are easy to set up and use. They will be used daily in a variety of settings and in a variety of subject areas. They will help meet the rigorous standards set by The Common Core Standards. The skills associated with the knowledge and use of technology are linked to success in today's world.
