Each student in a concert band should have their own instrument to play. When there aren't enough instruments to go around, students have to take turns playing their parts which slows down instruction, hinders engagement, and creates opportunities for disruption in the classroom.
Providing an instrument for each student improves learning by keeping students engaged and participating. Having an instrument assigned specifically to each student also stops the potential of spreading germs that comes with sharing instruments.
My goal is to have an instrument available for each student and these flutes will help me provide what my students need. Music programs are often underfunded and the cost of renting instruments can be prohibitive for students in low-income districts like mine. These flutes will guarantee that two more students won't have to wonder if they can afford to participate in band.
