There are some staple items that I think would make my classroom a more welcoming and independent environment for the students. The carpet I need has more than twenty squares because when everyone is attendance the space is crowded. Students need a choice in seating so they can focus and pay attention. The students will have the opportunity to try different types of seating when they need to calm their bodies. The jellyfish seats will give them a little freedom to move while on the carpet. The comfy floor seats will give students physical support and help the student define their space. The comfy items will give the students a place to calm their bodies in the quiet corner when they are upset.
The donations for this project will give my students the opportunity to meet some of their sensory needs, which will hopefully decrease behavioral problems.
