My students want to perform to an audience that can hear them. We have two old stage mics that alternate between picking up very few sounds from the stage to picking up sounds from every movement including fabric.
These wireless head mics are great for the kids because they can focus on their delivery of the lines and movements without worrying if the audience will be able to hear them; thus, building their confidence on the stage. This will enhance the performance experience not only for the actors and crew but also for the audience.
The mics will also play a role in the program for the students who want to focus on the aspects of technical theatre. The crew can control the volume while the actors perform and continue to practice without the other distractions.
The microphones will be used for future productions for years to come. This is one step in building a stronger drama program that includes supplies and equipment needed to put on successful productions.
