I am requesting ceramic glazes that my students will use to paint their art projects in my ceramics classes. This is my first year teaching at this high school and the students have loved the class. Everyday, students come into class excited to get out their clay and work on their projects. It's been wonderful to encourage the students in their creative endeavors and help them develop their art skills. The students have already created several projects and started glazing their first project. However, I discovered many of the old glazes from previous years were moldy and unusable. Because of this and our limited budget, our glaze selection is restricted to only a handful of colors.
New glaze colors would bring great joy to my students and would allow them to take great pride in their artwork. I'm asking for a selection of different glaze colors and a gallon of clear glaze so that the students can finish glazing their projects. The students have been learning about color theory and more glaze colors would allow them to demonstrate their understanding of color on their projects. The students are excited to finish their projects and take them home to show their families. Many of them have created cups and bowls with family members in mind. More glaze colors would give these students an opportunity to be proud of what they have created in my ceramics class.
