The supplies will allow my students to have their own creative space where they can really explore. Currently, we are limited to doing only pencil and paper (8.5 x 11) due to lack of storage space for other art supplies and limited to time for class preparation. I move between two classrooms daily and it is impossible for me to get into those classroom to setup for class because there is a class utilizing the room the period before I teach.
There is an empty classroom available in our school, but there is no furniture. If given the funds to purchase furniture, we can create a space that is inspirational, welcoming to the artistic process and encourage the creative minds I know our students have. There will be a place where they can display their artwork and I can better prepare for the lesson on a daily. I believe having this space will drive the passion in our students.
Art is a discipline that needs its own space and in order for our students to really enjoy the process, we need our own classroom.
