Art matters because it gives students a voice. Many students stay in school if they have an outlet for their creativity. The art classroom must be adequately supplied in order for students to express themselves and be successful. Art gives students a way to express themselves in ways they would not be able to otherwise. Using tempera paints and quality paper my students are able to paint. Using pens my students are able to complete many different art projects. When projects are finished students can take the art they are proud of home to show to their families and to their communities.
