I teach a self-contained, 7th grade class. During our reading block, we have D.E.A.R. (drop everything and read) time. The students enjoy reading books on MyOn.com - a website that reads the book aloud to the students as they read along with the text. Having headphones will make D.E.A.R. time much more pleasant in my classroom. It is difficult for students to concentrate on their book when they are hearing the computer of the student next to them reading their book out loud. The headphones will help ensure that the students can focus on an truly enjoy the book they have chosen.
