The school district hosts a STEAM expo every spring where students and teachers across the district come to share, learn, and participate in fun STEAM based activities.
This project would bring a great maker tool to our community that can be used from our youngest to our oldest students. The Crop-A-Dile tool can create holes through various materials from cloth to wood. In doing so, it opens up different ways for our students to create projects that have movement. In the project, students will be engineering a grabber arm using the popsicle sticks and fasteners. They will create the holes through the sticks using the Crop-A-Dile tools. At the end they will customize their grabbers using the construction paper and glue. This project exposes students to engineering and physics concepts in a fun way! They will be creating something that moves and has linkages and joints.
