According to Palmer (2013), author of the article "Including Student Voice", student voice refers to students having input in their own education. This means their perspectives and ideas are of value in the classroom and what students "say matters in how learning happens". One way to ensure my students use their voices is to give them opportunities to comprehend, communicate, lead learning, think critically and solve-problems together in the classroom (edutopia.com). Your donations to this project will allow my students the accessibility to technology that will support their uniquely diverse and valuable voices. This Elmo visual presenter/document camera would allow students another way to understand difficult text, give them a forum for sharing their writing and other work, and challenge them to lead and shape the learning in our room through the presentation of their ideas.
