Students who have significant disabilities are able to use different technology tools to learn and communicate. In my classroom students benefit from programs to learn letters, numbers, writing and spelling. An iPad would be beneficial to the students in my classroom to learn to use their fingers and hands for fine motor skills, along with gripping a stylist to trace and write words, letters, numbers, etc. Students enjoy to work on the iPad or computer as a reward in the classroom. Having this source for students to work for will allow students to be more motivated and willing to work through all of their work when asked.
