Each year is different but one things remains the same. My school is in a low income area of town and many of my students lack day to day necessities. My room provides an inviting and comfortable environment. I have alternative seating and soft areas to help meet the individual needs of my students to increase their learning potential. School should be the place where they do not have to worry about problems at home and I strive to meet my students emotional, mental and learning needs. I provide my students with their own materials and places to keep them. This gives them a sense of ownership and independence. I want my students to feel safe when they come to school and know that they have the things they need to have a successful day.
