Hello!
I'm a teacher who got into teaching to bring love of science to students in low-income neighborhoods. I graduated as a Chemistry Major from UCI and was always told by my peers that Chemistry and Physics were miserably hard, not-fun, and something they just couldn't do. I always tried to share my rich experience of science with them to no avail.
I then started volunteering with science outreach programs where I was able to help students see science as something they could master, and something they are always doing. This proved to me I wanted to become a science and engineering teacher to give students who otherwise wouldn't the confidence in their ability as scientists and engineers.
