My students learn about computer coding from first through fifth grade. Using terrific free sites like Code.org, Scratch and Made with Code they learn to code and create programs with their devices. When they run their program, they see it virtually on the screen. We need LEGO Mindstorms EV3 for our computer lab so that the students can take the coding that they learn and use a peripheral to control their physical environment. We plan to design, build and program the EV3 as a character for our school play with help from the art and music teachers and real engineers.
