Our school is located in a small SC town in an area so rural that most people in the closest city don't know how to find it! We are a middle school of around 300 students in grades 6-8 (100 per grade).
The majority of our students come each day from homes that are below the poverty level. This typically means they have minimal supplies, often only bringing in paper and a pencil. So things like scissors, glue, binders, etc. are not always available, and there can be times when 4+ students are sharing one pair of scissors & glue. Community organizations and churches assist each year with providing what they can, but our students deserve the chance to access so much more!
