My students will benefit from these reading comprehension, writing workshop activities, auditory skills, and math centers because they are visual learners, kinestic learners and students who learn with repetition. This will help develop my students cognitive and self esteem and build on friendship. Having worked as a paraprofessionals with students with disability before becoming a teacher has helped understand and learned the academic areas of struggles my students face on a daily basis.
In my classroom we practice listening, writing, math and comprehension skills in different ways. All of my students have different ways of learning each skill. My students benefits from repetition to apply the skill learned. My classroom instruction is based on working in groups to foster friendship skills as well as sharing skills. Working in groups benefit all students because they are able to help one another into completing their learning activity. In addition, working in groups helps with their social skills. My classroom is also based on independent work in which the students can practice and assess what they have learned. Working independently helps fosters student self-esteem and helps students apply the concept learned outside of school.
