My students love to read and whole class book studies are a great way to build a community of life-long readers. Unfortunately, my school has limited funds and is unable to provide class sets of novels. The project includes four sets of novels that will be used by my students for the entire year. It includes the exciting tale of survival "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen and the story of a gorilla who learns to accept himself in "The One and Only Ivan". The novels come in English and Spanish, students will use them in journal responses, research projects, and it will help them prepare for the STAAR exam.
