All students want to graduate from high school and seek careers that will earn them a livable wage. I would like to purchase robots and turing tumble to teach coding to my students to prepare them for employment after high school or computer science as an option for college.
Turing tumbles will be used to teach computer logic, engineering concepts, computer science principles and allow students a peek under the hood of a computer to discover how they work. Once they understand the interactions of the computer, students will use the iPad and dash robots to learn how to code.
Virginia currently has 41,417 open computing jobs; however only 1,865 computer science students graduated to fill those positions. There is a disconnect. Students seek college and or employment based on areas that they are familiar or comfortable in doing.
