Students will be using the bookshelves to store our classroom library books. They choose good fit books for their book bins from these books. They read daily! The low profile shelving will make it easier and safer for all students in the class to have access to every book in our classroom library. My students are enthusiastic readers and excited to have the responsibility and ownership of getting to choose their own books to go in their book boxes each week. We currently have tall bookshelves that are difficult for every child in the class to reach, requiring assistance. I want this to be a completely independent task and responsibility for each child once they learn how to choose their good that books. I run a daily five – café system in my classroom and choice is a big part of this!
