We are requesting a rug for our classroom to use during our story time, calendar, and group lessons as well as comfortable chairs for our library center. My high school students plan exciting and engaging lessons for their preschool counterparts - lessons that often lead to us stretching out on the tile floor. During our free choice time, these new items will increase our usable space while also bringing color to our classroom.
Having these new seating options will allow my students, both big and small, to stay focused on their learning instead of worrying about where they are sitting. We will be able to come together more and develop a great sense of community, which is so critical in developing confident, capable learners. By having a classroom carpet and library furniture, the students will have a chance to get out of their chairs and come together to learn up close and personal!
