Please help me give my dyslexic students the assistive technology they need to become independent, self-confident and successful. I-Pads are the tools that will give this to my dyslexic students!
Dyslexia is a disability that my students will have their entire lives. This disability causes difficulty with reading and often discourages them from the enjoyment of reading a book because it can be such a struggle. As their dyslexia teacher, I want to show them that they can use assistive technology to help them read. This will allow them to have the same love for reading that other non-dyslexic children do.
There many audiobooks with text-to-speech that dyslexic students can now enjoy through apps on the iPad. With this assistive technology, they don’t have to rely on anyone else to read to them. They are also able to follow along with the story because the words that are being read are highlighted. These easy-to-use tools can make an enormous difference for dyslexic children. Please help my students have a love for reading!!
