This subscription to Scholastic News and 100 Words Skill books will have a huge impact on my students. My 2nd graders will be able to have color magazines to enhance their Social Studies/ Science time. Most of my students can't afford to have their own books at home. When they hold these magazines, read them and take them home to share with their families, they will have a sense of pride and excitement. Many of my students are from immigrant families who are just learning the language. Without the proper support at home, they have weak vocabulary skills. They will benefit from vocabulary workbooks to improve their language/reading skills.
