Saxophone is one of the more popular instruments in band, and the ones in our lending collection are in rough shape. The saxes I do have are being used in each class period, so consequently break down at a faster rate than other instruments. It is frustrating for beginners to attempt to play the "right way" only to have their instrument sabotage them. I would use this alto sax to grow our lending library of instruments. Having another in the collection would lower the strain on each of the other instruments in the inventory. This donation would have a lasting positive impact on our program, as a brand new horn, if treated well can last 30 years. In addition to benefitting our concert band system, the alto saxophone would be used in our jazz program. I want the students that depend on the school for an instrument to be able to have a quality horn that puts a smile on their face. Thank you for your consideration.
