Physical education is important for a number of reasons. Teaching our youth a variety of ways to live a healthy lifestyle is a critical reason as to why kids need physical education. At our school, we do not have a lot to choose from when it comes to equipment. This limits our curriculum, as well as the skills that the students are acquiring. Since our students range from kindergarten, all the way through eighth grade, we will be able to use this equipment for various activities and games. If we are able to purchase bowling set and pins, our students will not only learn how to become proficient bowlers, but we will also expand on other skills. Bowling pins are great targets for throwing, because they show instant success when the pin is knocked over. Bowling is a great sport to teach our youth. Students learn the a variety of new skills. They also gain additional practice with math, through score keeping. The kids practice responsibility by being given jobs, such as ball return, pin setting, score keeping, and line judging.
