Having an iPad and Osmo kit will allow for different structures of learning in my classroom. Instead of working with worksheets, students will be working on team-building skills, while simultaneously improving their math and language skills. This hands on technology connection will foster social intelligence and creative thinking, while bridging the real and digital realms. Students will work in small teams to spell hidden words, improve engineering skills by guiding a virtual ball through a maze with real-life objects, use tangrams to solve spatial puzzles, explore math skills through trial and error, and much more. Osmo programs have a variety of practice skills in each subject area, which will challenge both my highest performing and most struggling students.
This project will make a difference for my students by giving them a tool that uses physical connections with technology in order to solve challenges. This grant will help support positive team interactions and balance small group problem solving skills. This will empower my students to improve their lives and the lives of people around them.
