My students absolutely love coming to the "class meeting" area to read and learn. We use the area frequently throughout the day to listen to reading, share our writing, work on math, as well as collaborate in science and social studies.
This Learning Rug would create a comfortable and safe space for them to share and learn together. On this rug I would not only teach the students, but they would teach each other. The students are very interested in geography and this rug with the world map on it would be a great way to reference different locations we discuss across the curriculum.
