My students are amazing learners who face significant challenges every day. They attend a public school in an urban area and are part of a self-contained classroom for students with severe learning disabilities. Despite the obstacles they face, they come to school with determination, curiosity, and a willingness to learn. Many of my students learn best through hands-on, interactive experiences. Traditional teaching tools often don’t meet their unique needs, which is why our classroom would greatly benefit from alternative learning resources that promote learning through play. These tools would help support their development in communication, social skills, and academic areas like reading and math in a way that is engaging and accessible. With your support, I can create a classroom environment where all students feel successful and excited to learn every day.
