The class ball set, jump ropes, twister game board and board game set will give my students an outlet for their need of gross motor activity. The students have expressed a concern about having no resources during recess or active play time. These materials will allow for my students to have structured active time and learn new activities to play with classmates. I can use these materials as a teaching tool in a variety of subjects as well as give the students an opportunity to grow their gross motor skills and develop constructive and respectful relationships with their peers.
My students have stated that if they had tactile materials during recess they could correctly learn how to play specific sports such as basketball, football and soccer. From this discussion they brought up concern for days of bad weather when going outside isn't possible. The twister game board and board game set would give them the chance to engage in active play inside and they even came up with the idea of making the board games life size and interactive!
