The materials I have chosen, such as comprehension kits, math skills cards, and intervention folders, will make a difference in my special education students' learning by allowing them to have some of the same materials they had before the flood. These items are part of their daily routine in becoming indendent learners.
The materials are needed so they can get the extra help to be at the same level as their peers. The items I choose are correlated with the curriculum we follow. The items are used for that extra practice and or a more interesting way for my students to become noticed to learn. Learning is sometimes more difficult for them compared to their peers. These materials along with support from the teachers gives them confidence to go into the regular education classroom and learn like everyone else. I have chosen multiple math manipulative that allow my students to better visualize the different skills that are taught. The Comprehension kits I have chosen break down the skills taught so that they can see the bigger picture. The intervention kit I chose allows my students to practice one specific skill so that they have a better chance at mastering each skill. They enjoy learing more when they have fun materials!
