In rural Kentucky, 165 high school students enrolled in engineering classes strive for excellence.
I teach engineering classes to 9-12th graders who are interested in pursuing engineering related careers. This is a national based curriculum by Project Lead the Way.
Our community is currently at a 17.5% unemployment rate due to industry layoffs and shutdowns. We are also a rural community with 65% of the students on free and reduced lunch. We have 1 school campus for all of P-12 graders.
