My classroom is the newest on campus and school computers just couldn't make it to our classroom due to budget cuts in our district. My Pre-K students are given one day a week to go to computer lab. We are only allowed 40 minutes in the lab where we are working on developing academic skills like math, reading, and writing by using IStation or ABC mouse. I have noticed that my students are eager to go to the computer lab to learn and use technology. I want to give them that excitement everyday instead of once a week. I want to have 3 laptops in my room so the we can use extra time to continue to strengthen skills and academics so that the journey through PreK will be a success into Kindergarten. We could turn these laptops into a computer center in our room that will help each student practice a needed skill more often.
This grant would help place a love for learning in my students that will last a lifetime!
