My students at International High School have the biggest hearts and most curious minds of any students I have worked with. They are enthusiastic to learn new things despite the difficulties of having language barriers. They face many challenges in life such as racism and ignorance, however at school they are a family and encourage each other to be proud of who they are and to be future oriented in their daily practices. I am privileged to teaching 9th and 10th graders who are new to America who are an inspiration to me because of their soft hearts and respect for education and their teachers. It is their turn and their story I am lucky to be a part of.
