Sitting still is a difficult task for 3, 4 and 5 year old young learners. My students need flexible seating options to promote learning. Right now, our only sitting options are to sit in chairs or to sit on the floor to learn. Adding flexible seating into my classroom will promote learning while also being able to wiggle. Flex seating options have been proven to promote positive behaviors in the classroom and allow students to better focus on their work.
When students use flexile seating such as wobble chairs, soft seats and balance balls their minds are able to be more engaged in learning. When students use seating options such as these, both sides of their brains are engaged in keeping their bodies centered on the seats. When the brain is stimulated like this, the student is better able to focus on learning. These seating options also help to promote engagement, oxygen flow and can improve posture!
Flexible seating is the perfect way to promote student learning, positive behaviors and motivation in the classroom!
