The materials I am asking for will help my struggling students get the practice they need to continue to develop their early literacy skills. Many of my students are lacking the foundational skills they need to be successful readers. They need work on letter identification and sounds, identifying sounds in words, and being able to sound out simple CVC words.
Your donation will ensure that students will have access to concrete, hands-on manipulatives and games that will make learning fun and engaging, and will target these specific skills that many of my students are struggling with.
Materials will be used for both independent work in centers and during guided reading groups. Students will be able to use the stamps and magnetic letters to work on letter recognition and sounds. The word work games and letter dice will be used to work on decoding CVC words, identifying real vs. nonsense words, and identifying beginning, middle, and ending sounds in words. With these learning materials my students will gain the solid foundation they need to be strong readers!
