In addition to new laptop computers provided by the school, our district has purchased software to help close the learning gaps for students across the curriculum. Each student needs a pair of headphones to be able to work independently on daily lessons in the classroom, using the new software. Within these lessons, students are required to watch videos that correspond to their individualized learning needs.
We are asking for the donation of 150 pairs of headphones to offset the financial burden put on our low income families. Many of our families struggle with paying for basic necessities.
Without the headphones, students are unable to focus and complete their lessons to the best of their ability, due to the distraction of sound coming from other classmates computers.
Having headphones for each of our students will give them a better chance when competing with students who have an economic advantage.
