As a 25 year teacher, I am noticing more and more students stressed throughout the day. Family conflicts, peer conflicts, high-stakes tests, ADHD, emotional problems, and just being a teen in today's society. I want to provide a place in my classroom where kids can take a break with our new classroom pet where there are no judgments or pressures. As least for a few minutes. We recently adopted a rabbit, Cocoa. I am requesting comfy chairs and a rug for the students to sit and take a break. I hope to also use this area as a reinforcement for positive behavior and work completion.
