A classroom set of Ukuleles will fulfill a desire of my students, Kindergarten - 5th grade, to learn how to play a string instrument. The students currently enjoy singing and dancing very much. Learning to play the Ukulele, which is size proportionate to these students, will enhance their music experience and overall enjoyment of bringing music to life. The geared pegs of these specific Ukuleles will allow for reliable tuning thus providing a quality music experience for both performer and audience member.
Making music with these Ukuleles will enable the students to learn techniques that will help make them skilled musicians as well as creative individuals in our world. I desire to incorporate songs from the various ethnic groups which make up our student population to encourage the sharing of what we are learning in music class to be carried over to home. I foresee families enjoying moments together singing, dancing, remembering and learning about their unique past during these times together.
