Small group instruction is imperative in my Special Education classroom and is used many times throughout the day to give a personalized approach to learning. Small group instruction provides me with the opportunity to differentiate my instruction to meet the vast needs and learning levels of all of my students within my classroom. Small group instruction also gives me the opportunity to carefully monitor my students' progress and their achievements while ensuring I am reaching them on a personal level and guiding my instruction to best meet their learning needs. There is truly no greater joy than watching a child master a skill or concept you have been working with them on. Seeing the spark in that child's eye and watching their love for learning grow is one of my favorite aspects about being a teacher! My Life Skills students are some of the most precious and eager to learn children and they deserve an area where they can receive quality small group instruction and work together to best meet their incredibly special and unique needs.
By having the teacher located in the middle of the kidney table, the teacher is in close proximity to all of students and able to assist and connect with each child receiving small group instruction.
