This year I am excited to be teaching in an intervention lab setting. I am working with students from K-5th grade on reading and math skills. As a teacher at a Title I school, our students are faced with many challenges outside of the classroom. The students in our school do not have many of the experiences that other children their age have been able to experience.
My goal is to make learning fun and exciting.
Many of the children I will be working with are low income and have few experiences to explore outside of their small town. It is very important for me to make my classroom a place where students can have a wealth of resources in order to be successful. Our community was devastated in August of this year with a flood that caused many of our school families to flood. Many students lost everything they had and are living in campers and homes that have been gutted.
