There will be a designated “Computer Station” for the four Chromebook laptops. During Language Arts, students will be able to go to on the laptops to practice writing strategies. Students will use the website Frontrowed.com to synthesize information from different articles to compose an answer to various writing prompts. Students will also read educational articles on the website and answer comprehension questions. These activities will help my student to be prepared for the SBAC test which is taken solely on computers. In addition, they would be able to learn how to type using programs available on the internet and will be able to type their written assignments/projects. In math, students will be able to work on a math program adopted by our school called ST Math, which is designed around brain research. Students will also use Frontrowed.com to work on specific math standards in the Common Core math curriculum. With the four Chromebook laptops, my students will have the opportunity to master strategies that will help them perform better on the SBAC computerized test. As college students, they need to know how to type papers, conduct research, present information. These skills are also necessary for jobs in human resources, the government, law, education, management, technology, and more. These laptops will change their future.
