Hello! My name is Mrs. Navarro Owen and I am a proud 4th grade teacher at Chollas-Mead Elementary School in south east San Diego. Our school is made up of over 80% Hispanic students, many whose families are socio economically challenged. We provide 2 meals for our students every day: breakfast in the classroom and lunch. Those students who attend the after school program receive a snack. Despite the challenges that we face in this community every day, my motivation is to provide an equitable and enriched learning environment where all my students can thrive, be successful, and most importantly, feel good and proud about who they are.
