As my students are deaf, they rely heavily on their other senses, making a fast pace environment such as the classroom very distracting. Reading stories can be a daunting task when trying to use sign language, redirect students, and engage them in the story. So interesting books (such as the ones I chose) and items that give extra sensory input (such as weighted blankets and wiggle chairs) will help the kids focus on the tasks presented.
These items will give my students the input they need to enhance their listening skills they may be lacking and focus in on the lessons I am providing. Any help given will be greatly appreciated!
